Paper Rainforest - YR2

Observational drawing has long been an important platform to develop deeper consciousness in students - to assist students see through their habitual ways of seeing and to develop new awareness. drawing develops qualities of perception and understanding of whatever is drawn. We worked with year 2 children on their rainforest topic and created our own paper rainforest scene. We discussed and researched the layers of the rainforest, animals that might live their and the types of plants you might find. we used observational drawings of plants and leaves as our starting point and then worked as a team to create a visual display of a rainforest for the COMMUNAL learning area for YR2.
